The Light gets In.

‘Kintsugi’ is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold to create an imperfect piece of beauty, thus repairing the breakage as part of its history rather than something to disguise.

  2. Ah, kintsugi, one of my favorites. I am all about the smashed and broken pottery. Some of the best things in the world come from ruins, all those shattered tiles that become mosaics, and kintsugi, now fused together with gold and stronger than it was to begin with. Beauty from ashes. The best art always comes from a good temper tantrum. 🙂

    • It’s unfortunate that temper tantrums prove totally embarrassing in the end.

“Some of the best things in the world come from ruins…” If that’s not so true… ;c)

Such a perfect combination. I love what Bradley says on her website: “Art is not entertainment. Art is not luxury goods. Art is culture. It is you and me.”
