There are times in life
When people must know
When not to let go.

Especially people! I have certainly been there.

I have failed all three of those lessons…
December 21, 2014 at 6:39 PM
Ditto! I re-failed that china plate one three times within the last week. Going to bed at midnight- wake me when it’s June. Or 2:20.
December 21, 2014 at 7:00 PM
Oh, Sister Madly, the universe is better off that you are not in charge of the delicate balance that must be maintained…..but we adore you nonetheless….
I’m happy to wake you at 2:20 – but I forgot your phone number…
December 21, 2014 at 7:03 PM
Carrier pigeon will suffice.
And what’s wrong with me controlling the universe for an hour or two? How much damage can one do in that small amount of time (provided I am not provoked, that is…)?
December 21, 2014 at 7:09 PM
Scary, scary scenario….. one shudders to think of the mayhem…. would the world ever recover…
December 21, 2014 at 11:14 PM
Well, someone’s got to bring about the end of the world…
December 22, 2014 at 10:58 AM
When you put it that way…..I judged too hastily. While the world does seem to be doing just fine on its own in the pursuit of bringing about its own end, I think I would much prefer the end result with Sister Madly at the helm of the runaway train. It would be a far more interesting ride. And there might be free Skittles.
December 22, 2014 at 11:14 AM
Free Skittles at the End of the World… I like how that flows. You certainly know how to inspire. ;c)
You also got me thinking- I mean, how DOES one make the world end? This is going to bug me all day.

Wow. My brother passed away not long ago. The grief is something I’ve needed to let go – and then I read this. Wow. There are no accidents or coincidences in the universe, are there?
December 21, 2014 at 6:43 PM
I am sincerely sorry for your loss. I have siblings of my own and I don’t even want to imagine what that would be like. Sometimes there is no way to understand one’s grief- it can only be felt.
To tell you the truth, I had intended to schedule this post for tomorrow, but apparently I screwed it up. Maybe there are no coincidences…
December 21, 2014 at 6:58 PM
It’s no coincidence that the dropped plate breaks. But it is an accident. Unless, you know, you’re chucking it at someone.
December 21, 2014 at 6:59 PM
I will always claim an accident to the proper authorities.

a beautiful lament. i loved the visual of “balloons, kites and china plates”
🙂 I dropped three plates over the past week, and I felt the same disappointment as I did when I broke things as a kid.
At least back then, the plates were ugly.
December 21, 2014 at 7:19 PM
🙂 now that you mentioned. i remember breaking a blue vase as a wee child and freaking out enough to start packing my bags to avoid an ass-beating 😀 and yes twas ugly
December 21, 2014 at 7:26 PM
Oh yes- attempting to runaway as a child! Back then, we had the confidence that we would survive in the wilderness. Unlike now…
December 21, 2014 at 7:35 PM
it’s never too late, comrade. as long as there’s salt in the air and wind in our hair, we have hope 🙂
December 21, 2014 at 8:10 PM
Yes! Much like Pandora’s Box, we have the element of hope…
December 21, 2014 at 8:36 PM
The scenery and the shots are stunning as is the life lesson. Thank you!
FYI … there is photographic evidence of what can happen when Sister Madly is provoked … at least to her own mind and that evidence will be released shortly

Yes evidence. Being compiled now. The findings of the investigation are now available under the freedom of information laws of several countries, one Antisocialist Regime and a Herd of Flamingos.
December 23, 2014 at 2:08 PM
Damn those flamingos. And after taking hush money, too.
December 23, 2014 at 4:21 PM
The evidence is now placed for your consideration.
Metatron was unavailable for comment so we spoke to an angel of an other type. Beary the angel of “veracity” that you are familiar with. We caught up with Beary off loading coal of all things.
In closing, Sister Madly, you can play in my sand box anytime. I’ll even let you drive the big trucks. The Steam Shovel? I think we can arrange that too.
December 24, 2014 at 1:55 PM
(And, uh, who is this Beary?)
December 24, 2014 at 8:40 PM
Beary … really? REALLY!
You know Beary, the archangel of “veracity” and “cattitude”.
You can find Beary and some “tude” here

Nice meeting you. Very witty. The UP huh. Spent a lot of time wandering that terrain with a rifle and a fishing pole. Nothing like the old west when it’s not that at all. Beautiful country. I was just at the falls a few months ago when I had to get the hell out of California for a breath of air.
January 4, 2015 at 1:00 PM
Thank you. Nice meeting you as well! Yes, the UP- use to visit those falls often about once a year back in the day. Never grow tired of them. :c)

Wet bars of soap as well…
February 12, 2015 at 5:48 AM
Oh my, yes!! Anything wet and slimy, like a live trout- although, who would be walking around holding a live trout?
Soap is a much better analogy, indeed. ;c)

I have…while heating up the pan with a stick of butter!
